Write More by K. Schloss

"WRITE MORE" by K. Schloss

We have lost the dying art of articulating fashionable words on paper to express ourselves. My thoughts flash back to when pretty paper pads and pens were among the most sought gifts. A lovely piece of pastel cardstock is only outshined by a bright white monogrammed notecard. Speaking of paper, does anyone else remember fine stationery? Reminiscing on the beauty and shimmer of Gold Leaf embellishments on the "old-fashioned" holiday cards brings me a simplistic feeling of happy. Okay so I like paper!

My goal is to inspire you to tap into your innermost thoughts and emotionally transfer them onto paper. Whether that process comes to fruition through perfect penmanship, typing on a keyboard, or scrawled in cryptic and later translated into characters that make sense (my method is the latter), Write More!

So, what to write about and where to start? Below I've listed some topic starters and pen habits to get your mind to relate back to simply writing more.

Declarations of Love

Quick little notes to loved ones and people that matter are a good way to express yourself. Recipients can vary from your little ones to your lover. Tip: Sneak them inside a pocket or leave on top of a bed pillow.

Lunch Box Notes

Who wouldn't enjoy a note of encouragement in the middle of their day? When packing lunch for your significant other or your child, slide in a piece of paper with a motivating phrase to press on and get their tasks done, or to remind them of what's to come when they return home.

Daily Reflections

At the end of each day sit and reflect on one thing that was either positive or negative. The goal is to translate your thoughts about that one thing into descriptive words that will memorialize it. A person never realizes all the things they accomplish, however if you begin to write down daily occurrence, they may become highlighted and identified. Even if the day wasn't so great, writing down what happened can serve as a therapeutic release and the situation can be referred to for your personal growth. Tip: Purchase a journal with a nice inviting cover that's full of paper that feels nice between your fingers and makes you feel as if your words will be published for all to see.

Recipes

Get yourself a nice hard cover blank book and write out all the steps you take to prepare your favorite meal. Have some fun with it and give each recipe a creative name. Before you know it you'll have a family cookbook to share with your loved ones. TIP: If you don't cook record your cocktail mixtures in detail.

Affirmations

Try keeping a mini notebook handy to write down one sentence of positivity every day. At the end of each week reflect back on all that you've written and simply FEEL GOOD.  Tip: LOVE THYSELF FIRST!

The point of this blog is to invoke your interest in writing for expression. I hope I've at least got you considering What and Why to WRITE MORE! Try it and let me know how it goes.
